Beauty Benefits of Avocado for the Skin

The avocado fruit is not only tasty, but the ultimate treat for skin as well. With it by your side, you do not need to resort to high-end skincare products (many of them even contain avocado in them for its nutritional benefits). Avocados contain properties that both hydrate and moisturize skin as well as protect it from the damaging effects of aging. Are you now wondering how you can benefit from the goodness of avocado? If yes, on and thank me later!

Anti-aging Benefits

Avocado is full of vitamin E and fatty acids that reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the skin. Incorporating this fruit in your daily diet can help benefit your skin and provide the right nutrients for keeping the skin firm and healthy. Moreover, the vitamin C present in it also helps improve the collagen production of the skin which in turn makes the skin smooth and tight.

Hydrating Face Mask

Avocado contains fatty acids and antioxidants that hydrate the skin while leaving it nourished. It makes the best mask for dry and parched skin. Adding a few more ingredients to it can help you make a perfect mask for your skin. The results of this mask may be slow but using it regularly will help improve both texture and tone of the skin.

Directions:

All you need is a ripe avocado and a bit of honey. Honey is great for soothing down the skin and killing any bacteria. Add the pulp of one avocado in a blender with two spoons of honey along with your normal skin serum. Blend them and pour the mixture in a nice glass jar. Keep it stored in refrigerator, using it twice a week for healthy and hydrated skin.

Hair Mask for Softer Hair

As moisturizing it is for the skin, avocado also helps soften hair and locks moisture into the scalp. Eating avocado helps nourish the hair while using it externally as a hair softener works greatly too. You can make your completely natural conditioner using this fruit at home. Here is how:

Directions:

Blend the pulp of one ripe avocado with half cup of argan oil and coconut oil. Store in a container and use it evenly on entire hair as a mask for about half hour before you go to take a shower. Keep stored in the fridge.

Moisturizing Body Scrub

This fruit is an ultimate moisturizing bomb for the skin and completely safe to be used on any part of the body. To make a DIY scrub, blend together one avocado, 1/2 cup of coconut milk and quarter cup of brown sugar in a blender. Blend well and add it to an empty air-tight jar. Use it before going into the shower.
