In typical health coaching fashion, I love to spend time talking about self care, self love and the importance of mindful eating. But the questions I get in return are - where do you shop, what do you buy, where do you get (insert every product under the sun) from.... So I totally understand that clients are always seeking quick, practical advice. So to all of you out there craving this info, here you go! I will be adding my shopping lists from the various stores to give you a comprehensive look at plant based shopping using Big Box Retailers, local health food stores and Warehouse Clubs.

First one up... BJ's Wholesale Club!

Now I know what you may be thinking.... these huge megastores stock a LOAD of junk food, devote aisles to soda and how could Michelle even suggest we walk into them? Well I agree! The ground rules for entering these stores are: 1- NEVER take your kids- you'll wind up with the Mega Packs of Danimals Crap Smoothies and enough Oreos to feed all the orphans in some third world country.... 2- Go in with my shopping list and stick to the good buys. 3- If you have time on your hands, go through each aisle and screen shot your favorite buys (Send them to me by email if you want me to evaluate their healthiness!)

SHOPPING LIST: BJs

  • Organic GoGo Squeezers Appleauce on the Go - Believe it or not my kids asked for these squeezers for days they don't want the junky Flavor Ice Ice Pop Garbage they give out at camp. I happily agreed and bought this case of 16 for 9.99. Motts Organic is cheaper and also stocked at BJs, but with kids familiarity is everything and I'm not introducing an entirely "new" product to save a few dollars.

  • Chosen Foods Avocado Oil- My favorite oil to use for sautéing or frying or to oil a grill pan. Perfectly neutral in flavor. 1 Lt for 10.99.

  • California Olive Ranch Extra Virgin Olive Oil. 1 Lt for $13.99. I use this for most of my salad dressings.

  • Stober Farms Organic Milled Flaxseeds- 3 pounds for $8.99. Am I crazy or is this ridiculously cheap? I use flaxseed meal every single day- as both egg replacers and as an additional source of fiber and healthy fat for my kids and myself.

  • Wellsly Farms Organic Chia Seeds- 2 pounds of $8.79. Again I'm a big proponent of using healthy Omega 3 fats in my diet every day so this chia bag is a great buy. Plus, I LOVE chia pudding and need to upload some chia pudding recipes ASAP! As for all seeds, I recommend storing in the fridge or freezer.

  • Wesley Farms Organic Quinoa- 2 pounds for 8.99. Quinoa is a staple in my diet, and one of the few grains I add in weekly. This is an affordable way to get your quinoa fix (this brand may need to be rinsed before cooking, check the back of the bag)

  • Bolle Sole Organic Pine Nuts- 1/2 pound for $9.99. When you have an allergy kid thats allergic to every nut except pine nuts, you get a little excited to see these at the store! Allergy friendly pesto here we come!

  • Wellsley Farms Organic Broccoli Florets: Freezer Section: 4 pounds for $6.99. Love this as an addition to my own stir fries or just for my kids steamed. The price is reasonable and my kids love broccoli.

  • Wellsley Farms Organic Triple Berry Blend- Strawberries, Blackberries and Raspberries: 3 pounds for $11.99

  • Mott's Organic Apples- Green and red variety 5 pound bag for $8.99

  • Nagoya Organic Extra Firm Tofu- 2 pack for $3.79

  • Eat Smart Broccoli Florets- not organic- 2 pounds for 3.49

  • Wellsley Farms Organic Pure Maple Syrup- 16 oz for $10.99

Do you have any BJs products to add to this list? Also, let me know which store to conquer next!❤️Michelle
