I often make my tempeh with asian flavors (think tamari, mirin and rice wine vinegar) but lately I have been feeling BORED with a capital B. Today I completely changed up the flavors to make it BOLD and spicy!

Spicy Turmeric Tempeh
1 package tempeh, any variety
2 tablespoons oil (I like Avocado but any will do)
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon allspice
1 teaspoon coriander
1/4-1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (depending on how much heat you like)
salt and pepper, to taste
2 drops lemon essential oil or juice of 1 lemon (I used the lemon essential oil since I wasn't in the mood for a lemon-y taste)
2-3 tbsp water, just to loosen the marinade
Preheat oven to 350. Mix all marinade ingredients together and coat the tempeh slices in the marinade, making sure to get both sides. Cook 25 minutes covered.
